Fly Fishing DVD - Part One
For the next six weeks or so, in addition to our normal type of articles, I will be
writing about the production of our nineteen fly fishing DVD programs. The
production of these programs required several years (approximately 12 years) of
pre-production planning, actual production and post-production work. They
include digital video from every state that has trout fishing except Alaska. I fly
fished on-camera for trout in Alaska on two separate trips of over a week each
back in the mid nineteen-eighties (1980's) but that video footage and resulting
final productions are licensed to Bennett Media Group for distribution.

The productions include scenes from over three-hundred different trout streams in
the lower 48 states. Ninety-two (92) of the streams included on our nineteen DVD
programs were shot on streams included in "Trout Unlimited's Guide to America's
100 Best Trout Streams" book. I point this out to distinguish the fact our DVD
consist of far more production work than the great majority of others on the market
that were shot in a few days or less and usually on one or two trout streams.

As I have been writing now for the past three days, today's post is short because
of out of town trips we are making together with a huge backlog of work at Perfect
Fly that needs done.

It's going to be a beautiful today, tomorrow and Monday. I hope all of you have the
opportunity to enjoy some time fishing in the park, or otherwise, have a nice
holiday weekend. There are between 500 and 900 people per day that read the
daily articles. That is reason enough for me to write them and reason enough for
both Angie and I to say thanks to all of you.
